Registration is open on the indico page of the meeting:
https://indico.ijclab.in2p3.fr/event/8881/

The program will be updated in the coming month, but please feel free to share any suggestions you may have with us. You can also start thinking about topics of possible interest for the “transverse task forces” that will be discussed in January as well.

Expenses for the speakers and for the early-carrier participants can be covered by the GdR budget, please do not hesitate to ask us.

2. Call for contributions: Euclid France Theory and Likelihood Workshop (28th Nov 2022, IAP)

Following the will to re-launch a scientific animation between the different French laboratories involved in the Euclid project, a Euclid-France workshop on theory and likelihood will take place on 28th November at the IAP in Paris. It will focus on the work that can be relevant for the theory group of the Consortium, as well as on the preparation of the likelihood and related statistical analyses. It will be a place of exchange for young researchers in France and will eventually promote scientific projects related to Euclid themes.

Exchanges in a broader framework and not strictly limited to the Euclid collaboration are also encouraged. The face-to-face mode will be privileged with support for young researchers, but a hybrid option will also be available. Talks will be in English.

We invite you to submit your abstracts before October 22nd on the website https://indico.in2p3.fr/event/27965/, and register before November 14.
Limited funding can be requested, within October 22nd, including a statement motivating your request: fundings will be preferably assigned to students and postdocs giving a talk, and who would not be able to participate otherwise.

4. Postdoc on analysis of the cosmic microwave background data set in the context of the CMB-S4 experiment (CPB, Berkeley)
Application Deadline : 19 October 2022We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher working on the analysis of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) data sets.

The postdoc will work within the research teams and contribute to preparations, deployment, and analysis of data sets of some of the major, most-advanced CMB experiments currently in preparation: Simons Observatory, CMB-S4, and LiteBIRD. The postdoc will develop new analysis methods and techniques, implement them in a form of software tools and apply to simulated and actual data.

The postdoc will strengthen existing and develop new collaborations between France-based researchers and Berkeley-based researchers in the scientific areas of interest.

5. Postdoc sur ZTF au CPPM (Marseille)

Deadline: 1st, December

The CPPM is offering a two to three-year post-doctoral position in observational cosmology to work on the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) dataset.

With its 47 square degree field of view camera, ZTF observes the northern hemisphere in three bands daily. Since mid-2018 it discovers, follows and types ~1000 type Ia supernovae per year at z<0.1. This makes ZTF the largest homogeneous, spectroscopically complete, sample to date. This golden sample can unlock unprecedented cosmological tests, such as an independent measurement of H0 and its isotropy, the first direct measurement of fσ8 at z~0 from SNe Ia peculiar velocities, which provides a test of Einstein’s general relativity at cosmological scales. Combined with the current SN samples at higher redshifts, the ZTF supernovae will give the first non marginal constraints on a variable equation of state of Dark Energy.

The successful applicant shall dedicate ~30% of their time to the general effort of the ZTF-group to help build the SN light curves and extract distances. The remaining 70% will be available to cosmological analyses.

The position is funded by the French Agence nationale de la Recherche (ANR). The CPPM is working within the ZTF-IN2P3 National project which gathers ~30 researchers, postdocs and students. It is also active in LSST and DESI. The successful applicant may have the opportunity to join any of these collaborations.

The position includes a research allowance, including travel money and access to the CNRS-IN2P3 Computing Center.

Applicants must have a PhD in cosmology, astrophysics, data science or a related field. Applicants are asked to submit a CV, a research statement, a list of publications and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent directly to Benjamin Racine (racine@cppm.in2p3.fr) and Dominique Fouchez (fouchez@cppm.in2p3.fr)

Applications will be reviewed starting on December 1st 2022, and the position will remain open until filled.
The position is expected to begin any time from January to October 2023.transmis par B. Racine

6. Postdoctoral position in cosmology at CEA-Saclay

Deadline: November 25, 2022

Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position at the Institut de Recherche sur les Lois Fondamentales de l’Univers (IRFU) at CEA, Paris-Saclay University, to work in the field of Observational Cosmology.  The cosmology group of IRFU, consisting ~20 researchers, postdocs and students is deeply involved in DESI and UNIONS on topics related to cosmology, large scale structures, dark matter and cosmological neutrinos.
The successful candidate will have privileged access to DESI and UNIONS data and is expected to work on Lyman Break Galaxy (LBG) clustering. The main goal is to study the Primordial Non-Gaussianity. Some expertise in the study of photometric catalogs, in the computation of angular correlation functions and even in the CMB lensing will be highly valuable.  The funding is provided through a grant from the French agency for research (ANR) awarded to the project named: Mapping the Distant Universe with LBGs. The successful applicant will dedicate ~70% of his time to the general effort of ANR project. He can conduct his own research for the remaining 30% of the time.
Applications should consist of a CV, a list of publications and a brief statement of research interests to be submitted electronically to christophe.yeche@cea.fr, under a subject heading “Postdoc 2022 — LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME”. Please arrange for 3 letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the above email address. All application material should be received by November 25, 2022.  Start date flexible: as early as May 2023 and ideally not later than October 2023. The duration of the post-doc is initially two years, renewable up to three years, depending on satisfactory results.
The CEA-Saclay is conveniently located near Paris (40mn away, either by CEA buses, car or train). The position includes health coverage for employee and family. School in France is free for all children above 3 years old, and day care is available.
