1. ESO Hypatia Colloquium
ESO is pleased to announce the beginning of the Hypatia Colloquium Series, where early career scientists will have the opportunity of describing their research to a very broad audience. The seminars were selected after a very competitive process following the reception of over 300 proposals by ESO.
The detailed programme of the seminars, which are scheduled to take place online on Tuesdays at 15:00 (CET), is now available.
Each event foresees two 20 minute talks followed by questions and discussion. The seminars will be live streamed on the dedicated YouTube page and will remain available on the same channel on a playlist. All astronomers are invited to remotely attend the talks. The participation to the web events can be done in two ways:
Registered participant:
you can register using the dedicated Registration Form. Registered participants will be able to attend the seminars and interact with the speakers via a Zoom meeting.
You can choose to participate to a selection of events or to all. Registered participants will receive instructions on how to connect to the Zoom event 1 hour before the beginning of the talks. The number of registered participants is limited to 100 per event.
YouTube attendees:
everyone can attend the live events on the dedicated YouTube page. All YouTube attendees will be able to make questions during the live event using a dedicated chat. We encourage you to subscribe to the channel to get automatic notifications each time a new live event starts.

2. SKA Science 2021 “A precursor view of the SKA sky” (15-19 March 2021, virtual)
We are very pleased to announce that registration for the 2021 SKA science meeting, entitled “A precursor view of the SKA sky” is now open via the conference website.
In the year that marks the establishment of the SKA Observatory, as well as the start of SKA construction activities, we want to bring the focus to science with the new and exciting results that are being produced by the SKA precursors and pathfinders and their implication for SKA.
The conference will be a fully virtual event, to be held on 15-19 March 2021.
This new virtual format will allow us to welcome participation across all time zones.
Our conference will include plenary sessions organised by the SOC, as well as splinter sessions organised independently by the Science Working Groups.
The registration fee will be £40 per person (£20 for students).

3. workshop on “Current challenges in gravitational physics” (april 21-28, 2021, online)
This workshop aims to connect different communities and research areas in gravitational physics by covering observational and theoretical topics.
More specifically, the focus will be on tests of gravity, gravitational waves, numerical simulations and data analysis, and theoretical models (including modified gravity).
Each of the six days provides a series of invited talks by leading experts along with generous time for discussion.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, this workshop will take place online.
The program will run in the European afternoons to maximize participation across time zones.

4. Les Houches 2021 Summer School on Dark Matter (26 July 2021 to 20 August 2021, Les Houches, France)
The School aims to train the next generation of students and young researchers in the field of Dark Matter theory and experiment, with a pedagogical and interdisciplinary approach.

5. Summer school on the ISM of Galaxies, from the Epoch of Reionisation to the Milky Way (July 12-23, 2021, online)
We are organizing a summer school on the ISM of Galaxies, from the Epoch of Reionisation to the Milky Way – July 12 – 23, 2021 – Online (via Zoom platform).
The school aims to offer an overview of the observational constraints, the interpretative tools and the theoretical frameworks used for studying the interstellar medium in galaxies from the epoch of reionization to contemporary Universe. It also aims to build a synergy between the Galactic and extragalactic ISM communities.
It contains both lectures and hands-on projects, that will be given and supervised in all afternoons (CET).

6. Appel à candidatures thèses/post-doctorats CNES
Deadline: 2 avril 2021 minuit
Chaque année, le CNES accorde une centaine d’allocations de recherche (thèses et post-doctorats) à des étudiants français et étrangers, dans les domaines des :
- sciences pour l’ingénieur (systèmes orbitaux, systèmes de transport spatial),
- sciences utilisatrices des moyens spatiaux (sciences de l’univers, sciences de la Terre, sciences en micropesanteur)
- sciences humaines et sociales (juridique, histoire, économie, sociologie, psychologie, etc.)
Il contribue ainsi, de façon très significative, à l’effort de formation par la recherche, des ingénieurs et des chercheurs qui inventeront les systèmes spatiaux du futur.
